Nomfundo Phewa
Nomfundo has a passion for agriculture and social upliftment, holding a Bachelor of Agricultural Extension and Rural Resource Management (Honours) degree, and is a current Masters candidate.
She is experienced in the field of rural agricultural development and has assisted in developing a facilitated learning agenda for the Illovo sugarcane farmers of KwaSwayimani through developing a plausible land use plan centred on building farmer capacity over systems and structures. She also served as an assistant manager of a maize seed farm and as a micro plant propagator for a leading KZN Agri-Lab and in a number of management and coordination roles for ACT.
Nomfundo lives with her family in KwaNdengezi, where she has her own vegetable garden, abundant with beetroot, peppers, spinach and carrots.
Nomfundo is also founding trustee of the Future of Africa Resources Management (FARM) Trust – a 100% black owned Trust, and registered NPO, striving toward agricultural development and the upliftment of up and coming farmers in South Africa.
