NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

Natural Resource Management (NRM) refers to the sustainable utilization of major natural resources, such as land, water, air, minerals, forests, fisheries, and wild flora and fauna. Together, these resources provide the ecosystem service that provide better quality to human life.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

All the things we need to survive, such as food, water, air and shelter, come from natural resources. Some of these resources, like small plants, can be replaced quickly after they are used. But others, such as minerals, and fossil fuels are irreplaceable and whilst being used, are poisoining and contaiminating the other resources we need. Managing these natural resources to ensure future generations are able to survive and thrive is our responsibility. Sustainable Utilization means using the resource sparingly enough that it can replace itself for future use or consumption.

WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT IT?

We work to protect and rebuild landscapes whilst creating jobs and an awareness and understanding on the value of an intact ecosystem. we seek to expand landscapes under conservation management.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Reduce, reuse and recycle. Plant trees. Switch to solar. Fix dripping taps, utilise rainwater and grey water harvesting. Car pool, bike to work and support local. Use energy efficient light bulbs and appliances, turn off lights when not needed, hang your washing on the line rather than using the dryer and encourage your friends and family to do the same.
