Join our debit order campaign and stand the chance to win a Toyota Aygo

African Conservation Trust  and Project Rhino are working together in a new approach to counteract rhino poaching by establishing food gardens in communities bordering rhino reserves.

Our Goals:
•    Help families to feed 25,000 children monthly by creating and supporting a network of homestead and community food gardens.
•    Place 100 Mentors into communities surrounding rhino reserves, to help build resilience to rhino poaching.

How it Works:

  • In a nutshell, our campaign seeks to raise 10,000 monthly contributions of R150.00 each by February 2018, to support a network of 100 to 150 Garden Mentors (Rhino Ambassadors), placed into communities.
  • Each mentor builds and supports a garden with a seedling nursery at a contact point, as well as a network of 50 to 100 homestead gardens.
  • We already have extensive experience in establishing these gardens and have built a network of more than 55 schools and 38 crèches (benefitting more than 25,000 children), as well as 5,500+ homestead and community gardens.
  • Each rhino ambassador / mentor also serves as an environmental educator, teaching communities the value of protecting our wildlife. Ambassadors provide a link between conservation agencies and communities surrounding game reserves.
  • We are developing a network contact points (schools, crèches and orphanages) in KZN based on our previous interactions and history of establishing gardens; and in association with other similarly focussed non-profit entities.

We will be offering a Grand Prize of a Toyota Aygo to a winner in March 2018. Each monthly contribution of R150 gives you  an entry into the draw, and there will also be monthly draws of food baskets, nights out, holidays, and others.

You can download the debit order form here. Please complete it and return it by email to our offices, or look out for us at a mall near you.

We are activating in Malls and events across KZN, including the Royal Agricultural Show and the Pietermaritzburg Garden Show. We have also booked Musgrave, Watercrest and Midlands Malls, and are confirming others.

Unfortunately, current legislation does not allow you to enter the car draw and claim a tax deduction on your entry. If you do request a Section 18A tax donation certificate, your name will be removed from the raffle.
